Description

3 day design sprint to create a concept for an electric vehicle app focused on user experience and branding.

Prototype

Problem

New modes of transportation require new interfaces.

Electric vehicle drivers not only expect, but rely on a high level of technology in their automotive products. Although Slate position's itself as the affordable truck, it still needs to meet these high standards.

New modes of transportation require new interfaces.
Question

What would an EV app look like if it was designed with the same attention to personality and affordability as the truck?

How might Slate design a mobile-first experience that reinforces confidence at every interaction while maintaining the minimalist Slate aesthetic?

Research

Three days to research, audit, design, and finalize

After defining the project guidelines and sprint deadlines, deep research on Slate's competitors revealed EV owner's pain points with flagship electric vehicles.

Proposition

Every interaction should reduce friction, and build trust

The app needed to lead with the most relevant information and shift as the user journey progressed. I proposed a single-surface dashboard that adapts to the driver's context depending on the proximity t the truck.

Solution

Bold, minimal, and unmistakably Slate.

The visual design mirrors the truck's industrial identity: monochrome palette, heavy typography, and confident negative space. I built a high-fidelity Figma prototype that demonstrates the core flows.

Bold, minimal, and unmistakably Slate.
